Nieuw: de KarakterCast

Begin februari startte ASL met een nieuw initiatief: de KarakterCast. Deze podcast, gehost door ASL-bestuurslid en postdoc-onderzoekster Boushra Dalile, presenteert gesprekken van 10 à 15 minuten met jonge KU Leuven-onderzoekers. U vindt alle afleveringen op KarakterCast pagina en via de sociale media. ‘Liken’ en ‘reposten’ warm aanbevolen!

Nominatie voor ASL-boek Ruben Mantels

Voor het ASL-jubileumboek Rond wetenschap verenigd | Leuven University Press, kreeg auteur een nominatie voor de Pil-Van Gastelprijs. De uiteindelijke laureaat wordt bekendgemaakt in september 2025.

Eline van Geert laureate ASL-onderzoekprijs Humane Wetenschappen 2024

Dr. Eline Van Geert behaalde voor haar proefschrift Prägnanz in visual perception and aesthetic appreciation: Interactions between stimulus, person, and context de ASL-onderzoekprijs Humane Wetenschappen 2024. De uitreiking (met presentatie) vindt plaats op 15 mei 2025 om 16u in de Promotiezaal. Iedereen welkom.

ASL en de PhD Cup

Vanaf dit jaar wordt ASL een van de hoofdsponsors van de PhD Cup. Op die manier hoopt ASL zich verder te kunnen profileren als organisatie ter bevordering van hoogstaande wetenschapsreflectie en -communicatie. ASL zal ook vertegenwoordigd worden in de jury van deze wedstrijd.

'Karakter' is a multidisciplinary journal on science and science culture. With this journal, ASL wants to contribute to the public dissemination of science and its critical reflection, both inside and outside KU Leuven. The journal addresses a broad and diverse audience.

'Academische Stichting Leuven vzw' better known as ‘ASL’ is the continuation of 'Vlaamse Leergangen Leuven' who 100 years ago started lobbying for the installation of Flemish academic courses aside of the at that time uniquely French Université Catholic de Louvain.
